  1. What is the LATAR Expressway?
    LATAR stands for ‘Lebuhraya Assamjawa Taman Rimba. The LATAR Expressway is a green field dual-carriageway project linking Templer’s Park in Gombak district to Ijok in Kuala Selangor district and is a faster safer choice of just 18 minutes between the two ends. The LATAR Expressway provides for a faster, safer, smoother, non-congested drive, and is an alternative link road to the present Jalan Sungai Buloh – Kuala Selangor (Federal Road 54).

    The total length of the expressway is 33 km.

  4. Where are the LATAR interchanges and linkages?
    The LATAR Expressway features four interchanges and three toll plazas on each side of the expressway. The four interchanges give faster and easy access into the existing Guthrie Corridor Expressway, PLUS North-South Expressway and the future West Coast Highway. The four interchanges are as follows:
    • Templer’s Park Interchange
    • Kuang Interchange
    • Puncak Alam Interchange
    • Ijok Interchange

  5. What are the toll rates of the LATAR Expressway?

    Three toll plazas are found on each side of the LATAR Expressway. They are:

    • Plaza Tol Kuang Barat & Kuang Timur
    • Plaza Tol Ijok

  7. Can I reload my Touch n’ Go on the LATAR Expressway?
    Not at present but arrangements are underway for reloading at the Toll Plaza offices. An announcement will be made when this facility becomes available.

  8. In case of an emergency, what are the security features of the LATAR Expressway?
    The LATAR Expressway features the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), CCTVs, Variable Message Signboards (VMS), traffic control devices, all weather road markers and emergency telephones that ensure the safety of commuters traversing the expressway. Emergency Telephones (SOS) are provided at 2 km intervals on both sides of the expressway for the LATAR E.X.P.E.R.T. (LATAR Expressway Patrolling and Emergency Response Team).

  9. How do I get on to the LATAR Expressway from Kuala Lumpur?
    Get on to the Jalan Rawang-Ipoh trunk
    road (Federal Road 1) and enter from E25.

  10. How does one enter/exit the LATAR Expressway from Guthrie Corridor Expressway?
    Through the Guthrie Corridor Expressway at the entry/exit for Kuala Selangor via E35.
