KL- Kuala Selangor Expressway Bhd ('KLS'), formerly known as Lebuhraya Assamjawa Taman Rimba Bhd. ('LATAR') was incorporated in 1996 with paid up capital of RM5.0 million by 1997. Then, the shareholdings was 60% held by Bina Puri Holdings Bhd and 40% by Arena Irama Sdn. Bhd.

KLS obtained the concession as far back in 1997 but due to the financial crisis then and subsequent difficulties in achieving financial close, the expressway never took off until 2008, when the supplemental concession agreement was signed on 28th February 2008 with the Ministry of Works, representing the Government of Malaysia. Subsequently, Bina Puri Holdings Bhd reduced it's stake in KLS to 50% with Arena Irama Sdn. Bhd. increasing it's stake to 50%.

The Company achieved financial close in October 2008 with a total of RM1.04Billion Loan from Bank Pembangunan Malaysia and Islamic Development Bank. KLS also raised it's paid-up capital to RM60million.
